Premio Malattia (Creative Sources 2009)
Wielding a computer running a “Feedback Network Based Non-Linear Digital Signal Processing System” (sounds nimby-ish (no-input mixing board) to me), Sanfilippo molds highly granular, diamond-edged wisps that slice through one’s ears on one cut, linger on the outer edges of hearing on another. Fine control spiced with enough awkward surprise to keep things fascinating. Very nice job.

I’ve listened to ‘Premio Malattia’ 3 or 4 times and I reckon it’s really perfect. It’s beautifully constructed formally. All the sounds seem to be in just the right place, formally great.

Chitarra Acustica Improvvisamente Stravolta (Live!iXem2005 DVD)
A music that seems to be freed and dominated at the same time. As a mass of unstable matter that shines in all its parts. Sometimes it gets calm, it looks like it is sometimes possible to influence its direction, but it always slides through your fingers giving burns. It’s like an anthill at work…
